Climate Characteristics and Landform Regions

Climate -
Throughout the year, most of the areas receive more than 1000mm of precipitation, over 300cm of snow, and severe weather conditions occur occasionally during the summer with tornadoes and thunderstorms.

Landform regions -
Quebec has 2 landform regions; Canadian Shield and Hudson Bay Lowlands. Most of Quebec is Canadian Shield and on a small part of western Quebec is Hudson Bay Lowlands.

Alberta Landform Regions



















Alberta has 3 landform regions, Western Cordillera, Interior Plains, and Canadian Shield. Western Cordillera is on the very west of Alberta containing many mountains. Interior Plains, often called "the prairies" contains mostly flat and fertile soil, mostly covering Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. Canadian Shield is at the north-east portion and is a geological shield covered over half of Canada. Overall, it is considered a Prairie province.

BC Landform Regions


British Columbia has two landform regions; Western Cordillera and Interior Plains. Western Cordillera covers Western Canada (British Columbia and Yukon Territory) and contains many mountains. Interior Plains, often called "the prairies" contains mostly flat and fertile soil, mostly covering Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.
