Interior Plains, often called "the prairies" contains mostly flat and fertile soil, mostly covering Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. Canadian Shield is at the north-east portion and is a geological shield covered over half of Canada. Overall, it is considered a Prairie province.
