British Columbia has two landform regions; Western Cordillera and Interior Plains. Western Cordillera covers Western Canada (British Columbia and Yukon Territory) and contains many mountains. Interior Plains, often called "the prairies" contains mostly flat and fertile soil, mostly covering Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.
